In my lifetime I have only seen one hummingbird in real life and that was when I went out for a walk near where I lived. The hummingbird was lime green, red and white and feeding on the nectar in the lavender, where it shared with a busy bee. I didn't want to disturb the bee lest she sting me, but I think the hummingbird was a male ruby-throated hummingbird.
I love humming birds. If you put a humming bird feeder out just make sure it is not in full sun and it is kept clean. I also see many hummingbirds with my feeder.
